11/0 2-cuts Opaque Aurora Borealis White

These Opaque AB White beads can be used anywhere a white bead is needed. The AB affect tends to pull blue, purple, and greens, so these beads are a great companion for those colors. The matte affect mutes the shine of these opaque beads, giving them a softened, rainbow look.

Opaque glass does not allow any light to pass through the bead. This gives these beads a solid look that is still shiny. Aurora Borealis (AB, for short) is the name for the rainbow affect. Opaque AB tend to have a subtle rainbow appearance that deepens the bead color. This is more pronounced on dark colors and warm shades. Use these beads next to transparent color to add depth or use an opaque matte bead to draw out the rainbow affect.

2-cuts are great for powwow beadwork. They have a certain sparkle and flash but are more economical than other cut beads. They do have sharp edges on the ends and can cut threads. We do not recommend these for peyote stitch, bead-weaving, loomwork, or any other beading technique where the ends touch threads. For applique/flat stitching, if you're having a problem with broken threads, here is our advice. When pulling the thread through the bead, be sure to pull it straight out of the hole. Do not pull it up and against the edge, this can cause your thread to fray and eventually break.

Size 11 (or 11/0) 2-cuts measure approximately 1.9mm. The hole of the bead is at least 0.7mm in diameter. Sold by the hank; hanks contain 12 20-inch strands. Made in the Czech Republic.
