This Light Turquoise Whiteheart is a beautiful sky blue or baby blue. The opaque white center adds depth and uniqueness, bring to mind a bright blue sky with puffy white clouds.
Opaque Whiteheart (also called opaque white lined) beads consist of opaque colored glass surrounding an opaque white center; the white heart." This style of bead is very old and is often seen in early indigenous beadwork, and the renowned Ojibwe bandolier bags of the Great Lakes region. These beads have a distinct look from the regular opaque beads. While these are modern Czech glass beads, they add a historical flare to any piece of bead art.
Note: Opaque Whiteheart beads have an especially small hole. We definitively recommend a Size 12 (or smaller) needle and Size O Nymo when using these beads.
Seed beads are a very popular and time-honored option for any bead artist, whether your art is worn on the powwow trail, displayed in a gallery, or adorning a person. They are fairly uniform in shape and size. They can be used in virtually any beaded project, including applique or flat stitch, lane stitch, peyote stitch, loomwork, bead weaving, bead stringing and jewelry making. Size 11 (or 11/0) Seed Beads measure between 2.0-2.2mm. The hole of the bead is at least 0.60mm in width. Beads are sold strung on hanks; each hank contains 12 20-inch strands. Approximately 4,000 beads per hank. Made in the Czech Republic.
