Description
This is a tool specially designed for rolling flat jingle lids into the cone shape needed for jingle dresses. This lightweight aluminum tool features a greppable handle. The conical end features a slot wear lids can be secured to turn them. Some dressmakers like to turn their own cones to ensure that the opening are as wide or narrow as they prefer.
This tool is from Anishinaabe Bimishimo, a new indigenous-owned manufacturer of jingles, based in Canada (see below for more information). Natalie from Anishinaabe Bimishimo called us when they were considering adding these turning tools to their selection. They had prototypes specially made for them. She used one of them to handroll 18,000 jingles! That's a lot! They immediately had that tool replicated and we're happy to be offering this tool!
Anishinaabe Bimishimo is a new manufacturer of jingles, based in Manitoba, Canada. Anishinaabe Bimishimo was founded by Émilie McKinney, of the Swan Lake First Nation. Frustrated at the lack of locally made jingles, Émilie created a design and wrote a business plan. With help from her mother, Natalie Foidart, Émilie is growing her business, with the goal of giving back to her community. We at Bead & Powwow Supply are eager to offer our support and encouragement to Émilie, her family, and their community.
