Eagle Medallion

This beautiful piece features a beaded eagle medallion connected to a long beaded rope. With shades of green, this is a great accessory for spring and summer powwows.

Beaded rope measures approximately 36 inches in length. Medallion is about 4 inches long by 2.5 inches wide, backed with commercial-tanned buckskin. Lobster clasp closure. Handmade in Anishinaabewaki.

About the Artist

JI's style is very reflective of the contemporary powwow circuit. This is not surprising, given her love of powwows. Bright, vivid colors are the rule, with a full embrace of rainbow color sequences. JI's beading is tight and secure enough to withstand many seasons of wear and tear on the powwow trail. These are pieces that you can wear on an active vacation, not just to office meetings and nice dinners.

JI (Ojibwe; Turtle Clan) is an enrolled member of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation. She has lived in Saginaw Ojibwe territory for over half her life, where she has established many familial ties and lasting friendships. She learned the basics by watching her mother bead and has refined her techniques with over ten years of beading herself.
